Cranberry Baked Brie with Honey and Pistachios

This cranberry baked brie is an easy and impressive appetizer that takes 15 minutes to make! Garnish with pistachios, honey and pomegranate seeds.

Ingredients

  • 7 ounce wheel of brie
  • ½ cup cranberry sauce
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey + more for garnish
  • ½ cup chopped pistachios
  • ¼ cup pomegranate seeds

  • Crackers
  • Apple Slices
  • Endive Leaves

Instructions

Season the Cranberry Sauce

  • Pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Add orange zest, orange juice and cinnamon to the cranberry sauce and mix to combine.

Layer the Brie

  • Place the wheel of brie in a small baking dish or a small 6 inch cast iron skillet that fits the brie wheel perfectly. Slather a layer of cranberry sauce on top of the brie and sprinkle generously with chopped pistachios.
  • Drizzle the brie with honey and place in a 400 degree Fahrenheit oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, until the brie begins to soften and melt.

Garnish the Baked Brie and Serve

  • Once done baking, garnish the brie with pomegranate seeds and additional drizzle of honey. Serve the brie while still hot with crostini, crackers or apple slices.

Notes

  • Substitute the cranberry sauce with fig jam or raspberry jam.
  • Look for a small wheel of brie that is double cream. The triple cream brie is too delicate to bake.
  • For a more pronounced flavor, look for camembert.
  • Instead of pistachios, use chopped walnuts, pecans or almonds.
